WHAT’S GOOD WITH: BRIAN WIZMERSKI
Oct, 03 2011

What have you been up to lately?
Traveling again, which I haven’t done in a while. Just got back from a twelve-day trip- four days in Poland, and eight days in Germany. And before that I was in Cali for a couple of weeks; just kind of been all over the place.
How was Poland?
Ridiculous. I’ve always wanted to go, being Polish, and finally getting the chance, it was a thousand times better than I ever thought any trip could have been.
Back to the homeland?
Yeah, back to see the mother. (Laughs) It was ridiculous; too good.
That was the first time you’ve been out of the country for a while?
I’ve never been out of the country before 2000, then I was out of the country a bazillion times a year for four years straight. Then just hadn’t been since. Last time I tried, it was to Canada and they let me in for five minutes, then deported me for five years. (Laughs)
What happened?
Just for having a DUI on my record from like six years ago that happened in Philly. It’s a felony up there, so they deported me under a convicted felon law.
How have you been dealing with the tropical rainforest-like weather in the Northeast the past few months?
The weather has been terrible here, but I’m the only one who hasn’t had to care since I’ve been working forty-six hours a week and don’t get to ride anyway. (Laughs) It hasn’t really affected me that much; it’s like more money because it’s raining and I’m delivering food.
Where have you been working at?
Rustica Pizza. Second and Poplar; best place in town. (Laughs)
You got any plans coming up?
Just working too much and trying to get my money back on track from going on all these trips. As soon as that happens, dropping some shifts so I can be riding again. That’s all I’m thinking about, is getting rid of some of these hours. (Laughs)
How about this winter?
Van is talking about doing another Two By Four trip. Me and the wife are talking about going to Austin, because she’s never been and I haven’t been down in years and years. So we’ll see; hopefully these will happen and get me out of the cold for a few days here and there.
We’re going to have to cut this short; Wiz has to make a delivery.
I don’t have time for interviews, let alone riding. (Laughter)
Later.
